What ever the outcome , I would like to thank Mike for continuing with this despite the demise of the Elite forum and the reduced numbers taking part. It has been fun seeing how accurate your results are , and i hope that next year (if Mike is going to continue ) , we can get some more participants

Woops, havn't put my predictions down. I think Steelers have already played their first leg, but I've not long got home from work then watched the F1, so havn't seen any results yet... promise I'm not cheating!

Playoff Final ResultBillm 14 Vs 12 Cairocat !!! So congratulations to Billm as our champion! The tie was a close one, Cairocat predicting the winner 4 times and Billm just 3. Both players managed to take at least a point from all but one game, and the deciding factor in the end was Billm predicting the Vipers Vs Blaze result dead on to take all 5 points on offer. Had Barrie Moore waited just another second to put the puck into the empty net, we would have had a tie on points and Cairocat would have won on his 3 star joker choice as he nominated Panthers to win as they did, whilst Blaze only managed a tie where Billm needed a win. But as it finished, Billm is our champion! Other players scores from the final week. Mike 15 Vs 9 BisonPete - Revenge is Sweet  and also, BisonDrummer 11. Finally I can total up all points scored over the playoffs to give the table below over the past 5 weeks. Billm 92 Cairocat 81 BisonPete 77 Mike 75 BisonDrummer 67 Bfs 55 Maz 32

Ok thats all the competitions done, but I've made a thread for next weekends games so you can play just one more week if you want to. As for next season, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Running it on this forum just doesn't seem worth it with just 7/8 playing, and next year I'll be off to Uni meaning I'll have less time to run the competition, and might not always be in the best state to do it, as the stereotype suggests! It can't be done on THF because there's already a predictions competition on there and I don't want to interfere with that, and that just leaves the individual club forums. I think, if I decide to run it, I'll have to do it on the independant Blaze forum, the FireandIceForum. The majority of players in the past have been Blaze fans, for whatever reasons, and its the forum I'm on most often to check up on. Of course, fans of any team are welcome to play, I doubt the forum mods will mind you signing up to play it. I'd have to consider changing the score system to something much simpler for me to implement to save me a bit of time, although short of just predicting who's going to win the game I can't think of anything else at the moment! I might go for either that, or just going by spot on predictions, with everything else scoring zero! Probably a poll at the start of the season if I'm going to run it to decide on which approach to use. Also, if I'm not up to running it, I've got absolutly no problems with passing onto somebody else who could run it. I do everything off Excel, so a bit of knowledge of that might help (you wouldn't need to know much at all to use it, but when something goes wrong you might!). The times not too bad, 20 minutes a week it was probably when it was in its prime on the Elite Forum. |

Just got back from a week's skiing in France to find out the result. Well done to billm and to Barrie Moore!! If you hear someone in block 7 booing every touch Barrie Moore has tomorrow, its me! Thanks for running the competition and hope everyone involved has a great weekend and the best team wins.
